Antigua & Barbuda Citizenship by Investment Program

Antigua and Barbuda is a member of the United Nations, the British Commonwealth, CARICOM and the Organization of American States (OAS) among many other international organizations. Holders of the Antigua and Barbuda passport enjoy visa free travel to approximately 135 countries, including the U.K., Canada, and the countries of the Schengen area.

The Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU) was established by the Honorable Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda and is the Government authority responsible for processing all applications for Agent’s Licenses, and all applications for Citizenship by Investment by applicants and their family.

OPTION1: NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT FUND

The National Development Fund (NDF) is a non-profit fund that is subject to parliamentary oversight by way of a six monthly report to be presented to Parliament in sufficient detail to allow for transparency and accountability. The fund will also be audited by an internationally recognized accounting firm.

OPTION2: REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT

This particular investment option is an investment in property. The process can take slightly longer than government bond option due to the steps required to purchase a property.

OPTION3: UNIVERSITY OF THE WEST INDIES FUND

In May 2020, the government announced a reduction in the contribution to the University of the West Indies Fund for large families. This option is suitable for families of six (6) or more and it entitles one applicant to a one-year scholarship that includes tuition fees at the West Indies University.

1. Free Consultation
This includes guiding our clients understand for the best investment option to suit their needs, whether by donation or investing in real estate. We learn about our clients, their family members, and their situation before going through the costs involved for the various options. At the end of this stage, we provide a full quotation for your consideration.
2. Free Validation
Once you have agreed on the quotation, we examine and validate all the required documents. Ensuring that the client would not waste time and money before knowing for certain that their application is eligible.
3. Submission of required documents
We then translate and notarise all required documents, and fill in all government forms. Ensuring that they are fully compliant with government requirements and regulations. Then, we prepare a full file for a final submission.
4. Apply for initial approval
At this stage, all the pre-screened documents are sent to the various government agencies for processing. During this time, we follow-up closely with our agencies in Dominica to ensure a timely and speedy process. We keep in touch with our clients for any further goverments clarifications and update the customer on the status.
5. Approvals & Payments
Once the initial approval is secured, a request for funds will be made by the government. When the funds are cleared, we will apply for final citizenship certificate and passport documentations.
6. Congratulations, your passport is now ready.

The Citizenship by Investment Programme allows foreign investors to obtain full legal citizenship and passports for an investor and their family where that investor has made a significant investment in Saint Lucia which qualifies under the Citizenship by Investment Regulations. This investment can be real estate based, an enterprise, government bonds or done through a national economic fund.

The total cost will be made up of the investment, and then other fees relating to the processing of the application. These will depend on whether you choose to obtain citizenship through the Government Fund option or the Real Estate Investment option. This will also depend on the number of individuals applying, sole applicants and their additional family members will naturally increase the investment structure.

Once citizenship of Grenada has been granted, you will have the all of the same rights as any Grenadan citizen. You will have the right to live and work in Grenada at any time. Your client UCI is a Unique Client Identification number which has been assigned to an applicant for Citizenship by Investment in Grenada. Your UCI or client ID will be used to reference your application in all communication between the Citizenship by Investment Unit and the us (the authorised agent).

Please be sure that your application is submitted as per the guidelines published by the Citizenship by Investment Board. Failure to do so would mean a delay in the amount of time the Citizenship by Investment Unit takes to accept your application for processing.

Once an application has been accepted for processing, it will be treated on its merit by the Citizenship by Investment Unit. Where there are abnormalities to be addressed, the Unit will contact us (your authorised agent) directly.

Otherwise, your application cannot be expedited. All application must go through the process as established by the legislation and the Citizenship by Investment Board.

You can help with your application by making sure that all the information and supporting documents you provide as part of your application is correct and in keeping with the guidelines published by the Citizenship by Investment Board.

Incorrect and/or incomplete information will delay the processing of your application.

You can also help by meeting the qualifying investment within the time allocated to do so. Failure to meet qualifying investment once your application has been approved with delay the granting of your Certificate of Citizenship.

The Citizenship by Investment Unit will inform Karibi once your application has been accepted for processing. In order to be accepted for processing by the Unit, your application MUST be fully compliant as per the legislation and guidelines published by the Citizenship by Investment Board.
